As you know, Rotary International has recently begun to encourage Rotary Districts to explore opportunities for offering
new club models beyond the traditional Rotary Club (see attached) in order to ensure that our organization may continue
to grow and thrive. No two clubs are the same, but all clubs share similar values and a passion for service. It is in this
context that District 7210 is pleased to announce the formation of the Passport Club of District 7210.
The founding principle of the Passport Club is to allow Rotary to fit your life. Our Passport Club will appeal to local
people who want to make a difference in their community in a way that fits within their available time, talent and
finances, while balancing their family, work and life commitments. To do this, our Passport Club will hold fewer
meetings, meeting “in-person” only once each quarter. Instead of weekly meetings, members are encouraged to engage
in frequent humanitarian service - however that works best for them. The members of the Passport club determine the
specifics of how the club operates.
Passport Club members are full Rotary members, with the same privileges and rights as Rotarians in traditional clubs.
Membership in our club provides you with a "passport" to visit and work with any other Rotary Club in the world to
take part in activities, programs and projects that interest and engage you.
Examples of how you can participate and make a difference as a member of the Passport Club would include:
● Attend meetings of other Rotary Clubs that are convenient for you.
● Support service projects and fundraising activities of local Rotary Clubs.
● Serve the community by volunteering with other community, civic or international organizations, programs or
projects.
● Donate to and support The Rotary Foundation.
Who should be a member of the Passport Rotary Club?
● Former Rotary members who want to rejoin.
● Current or past members of the Rotary family, including Rotaractors and alumni of Rotary programs such as
Scholarship programs, Group Study Exchange, and Rotary Youth programs.
● Young people who are early in their career.
● Young families.
● Retirees who now have time and talent to give back.
● Anyone interested in doing good in this world.
As with all Rotary Clubs, membership in our Passport Club is an honor and privilege, and its members are held to the
highest ethical standards. To become a member, a prospective member must be sponsored by a current member of the
Passport Club, or a current Rotarian in good standing in another Club in our District, who will submit an application for
membership on your behalf. The cost of membership is $150 per year, with a discounted rate of $100 per year for
members of Rotaract (our youth partner clubs for those 18-30 years of age) and first time Rotarians that have never been
in another Rotary club. Membership Application is available here.
The affordable dues structure and flexible nature of the Passport Club could be the right fit for you.
