Happy May.  The week of May 15th our District will be holding a series of new member “meet-ups” in four locations within our District.  These events are being held with the assistance of Rotary International as opportunities for our existing members to bring a new prospect to learn about Rotary and our clubs. See the flyer below with dates and locations.

Rotary Day of Service, May 20th is just around the corner.  I hope clubs are starting to plan how they will promote their individual projects. Remember, this is a great opportunity to expose community members to the great things Rotary and our clubs accomplish.
This past Saturday was our District Learning Assembly at SUNY New Paltz.  Thanks to all that participated as presenters and attendees.  I hope you walked away with some takeaways.

At the Assembly, an attendee spoke to me that my emails are too long and too frequent.  Therefore, this month’s letter will be shorter.  As a rule, I send my DG letter to all district members, and club presidents receive emails regarding upcoming Zoom programs. So I will stop sending the Zoom emails.  Just refer to the District webpage frequently to see upcoming Zooms.  As a rule, I schedule MyRotary/Clubrunner Zoom training on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. and the fourth Monday at 7 p.m. I schedule a Rotary 101 information session.  These will continue throughout DGE Peter’s year.  Although I will not present these sessions in May as I will be at the RI convention in Australia; however, they will continue in June.

May is Rotary Youth Services Month and this year we are celebrating the importance of youth in our communities. As part of this celebration, Rotary clubs should be hosting events to recognize the achievements and efforts of young people who are making a difference. Through these activities, we can help create a brighter future for everyone by inspiring our youth to get involved in service projects that benefit their own communities. We invite all Rotarians, friends and family members, to join us in celebrating the amazing work being done by today’s youth! There's so much potential in our youngest generations - if they have access to resources such as mentorships and educational opportunities, they can go on to do incredible things. With your support, we can help ensure that all young people have the chance to reach their full potential. Let's make Rotary Youth Services Month a time of empowerment, recognition, and celebration! So, join us in celebrating Rotary Youth Services Month - it's sure to be a meaningful month for everyone involved! Together we can make a difference in the lives of our youth and help create strong, vibrant communities around the world. Help us make this year’s Rotary Youth Services Month a success by getting involved today! Thank you for your support!
